Review on Black Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Professional Grade Studio Monitor Headphones with Detachable Cable - Critically Acclaimed by Qu Hiu ᠌

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good purchase.

I compared for a long time at home with other classics of the genre, with the Beyerdynamic 770, 990, pro and not pro, with the Sony 7506 and something else: in the end, I still chose the M50X. Buyers definitely win in terms of soundstage and detail. I really liked them, that 770, that 990 in any ohms, and they are comfortable too, but I personally could not stand the loose top. It's individual, it's normal for someone, for someone - like me - well, it's impossible to listen for a long time and that's it. Sony 7506, although a classic - I didn’t understand them at all - I tried to buy them twice and rejected them both times - the top is also very annoying right, but not as much as the Bayers. M50x vs M40x - this is where I definitely thought about it. Both are very, very good. the M50x has slightly better detail, and the M40x has slightly smoother (less) bass. In the end, however, he stopped at 50. To say that these are the best headphones in the world - I will not say. There are drawbacks, for example, a slightly cloudy middle and lower for my taste. The soundstage is not the best - but they are not open, like 770/990. After two years, the ear pads definitely fall apart and it is difficult to find original unforged ones. You can listen like that, but they look disgusting. But as a solid mid-ranger, they remain my everyday headphones.

Pros
  • My favorite headphones. First there were M50s for a few years, then I listened to the M50x and liked it even more, bought them too. Someone says that there is no difference - for me the difference is significant, the detail in the M50X is better.
Cons
  • Ear pads in two years in the dust.
