Well, the main thing. The product was very well packed. The pop filter was in a bag that sat on top of the styrofoam with compartments containing all the other items. Each item was in its own bag (see photo). I don't see how this product could be damaged unless punctured or thrown from a great height. So 5 out of 5 points for the packaging. If your desktop has a ledge that is 4 inches or less thick when you set it up, the clip will fit. The boom arm has a wide range of motion and is easy to move into and out of the desired position. In my setup, the cantilever was attached to the back of the computer desk and could extend to the front of the desk and beyond. There is no textual installation guide, but the manual with pictures was enough to complete the installation. I installed the microphone in the clamp and positioned it horizontally. I've read other reviews that raised concerns about the mic falling out of a pinch. In this horizontal position, I wasn't worried. The reason for this stance is that another review pointed out that the mic is designed to receive from the side, not the front. In other words, instead of pointing the microphone at the speaker, you place it on the side grille. The microphone was tested by two people. There were two complaints: 1. "Because there are no instructions, you are not told that there is a volume knob on the side of the microphone that needs to be turned all the way out for the sound to come through. The microphone volume settings in Windows are also set to "0" after installation, so you need to go to Windows "Sound" and find the microphone and turn up the volume. I've found that 50% is a good starting point to get decent results." 2. "The pop filter seems to decrease sound quality rather than improve it, so I just used the mic without the pop filter." This was on tested on a homebuilt gaming laptop. The clarity of the sound is definitely superior to that of the standard microphone on the headset and approaches the purity of the professional Blue Yeti and similar microphones. No over-amplification distortion effects are observed. Are professional microphones better? Sure. But for the price the quality you get from this mic is superb. The cord from the mic is more than long enough to go anywhere. While the mic picks up some background noise, it's not enough to be a problem It barely picks up the clatter of my very loud keyboard when typing Overall, you can't go wrong with this purchase . You not only get a high-quality microphone, but also a boom extension, a pop filter and other extras. It's amazing how they made it for $40. I'm thinking of getting 1 or 2 more of these for other players and family members with live streaming. Why 4 star rating? Because 4.5 didn't exist, and 5.0 means perfection to me.
