I was worried how they would look in real life because they are made of cork with imitation wood, but they are cute. They don't look funky like I thought. They look beautiful on tables, one side looks like wood and the other is just cork. Definitely much prettier than the smelly plastic ones. From time to time they stick to the bottom of the glass/cup due to suction. I end up drinking and it falls into the middle of drinking. Rschunimagu. It's not the biggest problem and if I'm careful I just tilt the glass/cup to the side to allow air to pass between it and the coaster and that's fine. It's not super absorbent, it leaves the pad wet I guess that's the right word, but it doesn't leave water on the surface. They are great for keeping your beautiful furniture beautiful, inexpensive and good looking too. Not heavy like ceramics which if sucked on your glass/mug will likely break or hurt someone. I'm clumsy and don't pay attention and the cup holder gets sucked in all the time and I pick it up all the time lol. I really like her. The holder is also a nice addition. Would buy again.
