I'm a Sony fan. My laptop is a VAIO, my palm is a Clie, my camcorder is a Sony MiniDV, my surround sound, my CD, my alarm clock, you know. So when I decided to get my second digital camera (I don't want to talk about the first one, a Kodak easy share I bought about two years ago, the wounds are still fresh), I knew I had to buy a Sony would, I just didn't. knows which. After some research I settled on 5.1 megapixels for quality, and I wanted something small but not so compact that it gets lost. The DSC-P100 is small but not microscopic like some others. It's also metal and feels good in hand, I don't think I'll break it when I use it. I've had it for about a week now and the photos are great and the resolution is amazing! It comes with a 32mg memory card, which is enough for the occasional shot at events, but over time I plan to buy more. Video audio playback is excellent, I can clearly hear what is being said when playing on my camera. Sony does a good job with the Carl Zeiss lens, I have it on my miniDV too and I knew I wanted it on my digital camera. I have yet to use the burst feature, I didn't even know this camera had it until I bought it. I didn't have much luck with my first digital camera (Oh! Terrible pain!) so I'll consider this my first real experience with one. I love it, it's easy and fun. The LCD screen on the back is big enough that I can see the image clearly without squinting. Note: I bought my printer when I bought the camera and I have to say I've tried about 15 different image quality and Sony printers. The 4x6 color printer was terrible. The best image quality I found was with the Epson Stylus Photo R320, the images look like I just got them from the developer and not my printer. If you buy a camera that can reproduce perfection like the Sony DSC-P100, get a printer that can render it properly.
