No smells as some have mentioned. Smells like leather, I like it. There was indeed greenish dust inside, most likely due to the fact that it had been in a plastic bag for who knows how long. I dampened and wiped a Windex paper towel - problem solved. This is just what I needed to keep all my cards together. My only issue with the one I got (bought it in Burgundy) is that all the other card slots are wallet length so you run the risk of losing your card in the slot. I would prefer them all to be about the size of a map in depth. The width is okay, the cards hold securely, and all the slots I have are leather, not mesh like someone said they have. If you use all the card slots there really isn't room for a check book, but there are slots behind the cards for receipts or cash. It's thin and fits in my purse as well or better than a regular wallet. I think it will look better with time like most leather products.
