I have an old house and before we bought it it was renovated at least three times. Oddly enough, none of them ever involved installing a real hood, which baffled me since the gas service was always nearby. Knowing it had only been a few years since the last major renovation, I was shocked at how much grease was found in hard-to-reach places. To be honest it looked like it was worth 20 years. I knew we were going to need a proper hood very soon. Even with the stove the house got hot and in short we have this range hood and this gas stove. We baked a pizza in 450F on a summer day and I wouldn't even have known the oven was on unless I made it myself. The kitchen stays cool and odors disappear. My wife says it's noisy, but I think it's quiet considering how much air is moving. It's quieter in the mids than our previous one (in the highs) which just blew it back into the kitchen. My guess is that these settings move just as much air, if not more. The only complaint about the brand logo on the stack. Maybe that can be removed somehow, but in general we like it.
