As long as you don't drop a caliper (ANY caliper) I really like the accuracy and durability of these calipers. I used my first pair for years until it started reading slightly higher than ±0.001 and retired them to the household/garage. My second set is only slightly different (in a good way). The battery door no longer requires a screw. The caliper is impervious to liquids, there were no problems. And it is also auto power off, no power switch. Just gently push the caliper and it wakes up ready for action. No re-zeroing required, it remembers absolute zero position. I still wipe the caliper surfaces and check zero with any serious use, good habit. I would happily buy another pair in 10 years if I wear these too.
