No problem, works as expected
In my case it works fine. I wanted to install a USB hub in my car, but the hub is powered by a large AC power adapter. Instead of a 120V to 12V DC power converter which would take up a lot of space in the car, I cut the power cord from the USB hub and plugged it into this converter. Then I plugged in the 12V cigarette lighter plug, plugged in and the USB hub works great! I can't comment on the actual current, but I can say that the hub charges my phone with no problem. Installed for about three months, no problems yet.
