I used to have a vivosmart HR which I bought mainly because it can be used in the pool. I had the device for about 15 months and its face was badly damaged just from use making it hard to read and the device itself was getting a little buggy (although it still tracked activity well) so I decided to give it a go to replace it with a vivosmart 3. I've had the vivosmart 3 for 4 days now and it's really a big disappointment. I haven't received credit for a minute of intensity yet, even though the device tracks my heart rate and has an enhanced activity that shows my heart rate at 80% of max. The old device was too generous with intensity minutes. With this device, there doesn't seem to be anything you can do to earn them. It doesn't matter, but it's annoying for Garmin to provide a metric that doesn't seem to be working. Judging by the comments on the Garmin forums, my experience is not unique. I am considering returning the device. So I stayed with the Vivosmart 3 for 12 days. Communication with Garmin customer service (out of service) regarding my intensity minutes issue was unsuccessful. They offered 3 options on their website: live chat, email or phone. I chose Chat and entered product information and a description of my issue. After that I got a message that the chat is not available to help me with this issue and I have to use the email option on their webpage. No luck there. I gave the same information. About a day later, I received a reply that included a link to an online manual. Been there, done, no success. I replied that I have already done so and received a response with another link to an online manual. With one exception, I never managed to get credit for minutes of intensity in the 12 days I wore the bracelet. Another issue I have with the armband is that it flatly refused to pair with my iPhone 7. It paired perfectly with the iPad but would not pair with the phone. Again, the manual did not help to solve this problem. My other real complaint about the band, although I could live with that if everything else worked, is that it's impossible to read the screen in bright sunlight. There were some features that intrigued me and would like to observe over time such as: B. the stress level score and the V02 max score. But the lack of performance in the main functions did not suit me
