We travel to the UK quite often and mostly hire a car. We were in England a few years ago and hired a car and also wanted to hire a GPS but found it would cost the same as the car. We used maps. This year I decided to buy a GPS for traveling to the UK. I bought a TomTom 130S and UK maps for a total of about $120 - about 1/3 the cost of renting there. The TomTom 130S was invaluable for getting around the country and especially for trips to cities like Cambridge. It makes circle fights a breeze. Now I have a TomTom for all my trips abroad. I also really like the TomTom interface. It's easy to view and quickly gives you all the information you need to navigate and keep your eyes on the road for a long time.
