Review on Zeal Optics Incline Polarized Horizon by Jason Mitts

Not the quality I expected

I hear Zeal Optics is Maui Jim's budget line. Maui Jim is an amazing pair of sunglasses so I figured I couldn't go wrong trying on these Zeal sunglasses. I'm not impressed at all. They are very light: the weight is comparable to that of children's sunglasses. The frame is very large - not at all suitable for a medium and even medium-sized face. The thin plastic lenses are sharp and clear, but the blue "mirror" coating is translucent and not what I would call mirror at all. Amber lenses aren't very dark, so they're only good for use on a cloudy day - don't expect them to help you in bright sunshine. I won't be trying Zeal again anytime soon. :(

Pros
  • Sunglasses
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
