Works if you read the instructions!

Have been using Skoon for almost a year now. We have a subscription through Skoon but sometimes I buy extra bags through Amazon. They're $3 cheaper over Skoon but easier over Amazon. As for the filler itself: it's amazing. We live in a very small house and it usually didn't matter what we did with the garbage (cleaning 3 times a day etc.) I always smelled like garbage. Also because of the small house and the long-haired cat, there will be garbage everywhere in the house. It was so disgusting! The move to skoon was a challenge. I was skeptical as I've tried many things in the past and they never lived up to the hype. And it REALLY required a brain rewire for skunk litter. I'm used to clumping my trash up, so the idea of not bailing out my urine was hard to grasp. But it really works exactly as they say! Things to note: 1: YOU MUST MIX THE BEDDING DAILY! Ideally twice a day, but at least once a day. The whole process works because the "stones" absorb urine. If left unperturbed, the stones at the bottom will become saturated and unable to hold urine. I promise it's not rude. It's nothing more than a tone filler. 2: It is best to completely replace the fountain pen when it is used up. It takes a few packs before you really get an idea of how long it lasts (ours lasts just under a month). It depends on how much and how often your cat pees. More urine = less time. After 2 weeks to a month you will notice that most of the stones have darkened. This means it's time to change the filler. 3. Because the stones are much larger than the regular fill, they don't track and disperse as much as the regular fill. We have found that using a top-entry litter reduces this even further. And the litter that runs away (the problem with long-haired cats) usually just stays near the box. Also, rocks are much less "dirty” than trash grains. 4: One thing that doesn't quite live up to their requirements is dust-free. This varies from bag to bag, but there MAY be some dust when you first fill or stir the bag. It's definitely not the determining factor (everything but newspaper clippings dusts), but not as "dust free" as they claim.
