This firewire card is GREAT, it meets the advertised specs and works as expected, I recommend it. A REAL GENUINE CHIPSET, not a "copycat" from any other manufacturer, despite claims that these "fake" chips perform equally well, they can and will fail in critical performance tests. If the manufacturer takes the time to recommend a specific board or component in order for YOUR hardware to work properly, I encourage you to follow the manufacturer's recommendations. They want their gear to perform as promised, and "Aftermarket or counterfeit components rarely, if ever, perform as 'genuine' parts. "other" manufacturers, they were right in their recommendations, this pci express card replaced one that had a horrible "different" chipset and will never work as it should/expected.
