Bought to replace an HP that failed after only 2 years (seems to be their trademark for the last decade or so). I knew it wouldn't last long when I bought it, but I needed it for work. I'd be happy to swap it out for an MSI laptop, which I've had very good experiences with. A bit of background: I also currently have a powerful MSI laptop that has been running for over 6 years and still works great (except for the battery that needs replacing) and before that I had a small MSI laptop for school, which I used to keep battery running 8-10 hours all the time. until an accident with a kitten knocked him out. Therefore, I expect excellent functionality and a long service life from it. In terms of hardware, this laptop is very light but still feels solid. The keyboard and trackpad are comfortable and easy to use. The trackpad glides particularly smoothly and is quite responsive. I had a bit of trouble adjusting how to click and drag since there aren't physically separate left and right "mouse buttons" that I'm used to. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. The power plug has a 'latch' of sorts that also feels secure, and I also appreciate that the power adapter is small. I was a bit worried about the lack of an ethernet port, but MSI included a USB to ethernet adapter in the box! I haven't tried to emphasize it too much yet but so far the fans have been very quiet - I don't even notice them until I listen to them! The software is minimal and not overly intrusive, but easy to use. However. The system works and loads quickly. He was able to break my bad habit of opening a million tabs on the internet like it was nothing. I wouldn't just buy it for hardcore gaming, but it will handle some casual gaming on lower settings with no problem. I think this device really does best as a very portable work center with its slim and light design and longer battery life. If you're looking for something to work or study in, this would be a great option (unless you're into heavy 3D rendering or whatever!). I love it so far and can only recommend it.
