Cherry jug without the mess?

We love cherries but the mess in my kitchen I cut out a batch to make it easier to eat rival beetroot peel. I definitely buy them less often than I would like because I'm afraid to use that regular grocery store tray. I saw this thing in the store, read reviews about Revain and then ordered it. Tried it today with a bag of cherries from my farm and a wide-mouth 1 1/2 C jar; and I put the glass in the sink if it's still dirty. Of course, this is not a fancy device - rather clumsy to use. However, I swallowed my entire bag of cherries in a matter of minutes and only drank two small drops of the juice. Wow! I hate throwaway items in my kitchen and this one is a bit big but given the lack of clutter I'll definitely keep this to myself. The piston holds the pits as it advances and easily holds all the pits of 1 1/2 C cherries. The only (minor) downside is that the top is stiff and the hole is very big so some of the biggest cherries didn't quite fit in and ended up flaking off one side when I pushed them through the hole. That's a small price to pay for a quick pack of pitted cherries in my opinion. I don't know where to store this thing, but we'll make room somewhere! Update: Having used this on many bags of cherries, I'll add that it's about 90% effective at pitting, perhaps because I don't always get every cherry perfectly centered. Even so, the remaining pits are still easier to remove by hand, we just check the cherries when we go out to eat them. It's still worth buying IMO because it's so quick and so little mess!
