I was so disappointed to find that the item had picked up bad odors probably due to where and how this item was stored and the packaging of the salt canisters from -for: Cardboard material and also pierced tongues that do not fully cover the product. You can stick your fingernail in the place where the salt is. Cello wrap runs around the outside of each pair of two, and there's also cello wrap around the entire dozen sets, but neither of these wraps cover the top, so there's not really a protective seal and the salt is exposed to the outside elements. Too bad because I was looking forward to using them for convenience. I will use them to shake over ice in the winter!
