Completely dissatisfied with this purchase. After experimenting with several options for lighting our two-story staircase at night, I thought I'd found the perfect solution. These devices are battery operated, have a small design and are unobtrusive but don't feature crazy mismatched colors and are full position, light and motion sensors. But no, I was wrong. They worked very well initially with one on the landing and one at the top of the stairs, but after about 2 weeks it didn't seem like it was daytime and therefore unnecessary, and with all the daytime activity in the house, stayed almost constantly on. The one at the top of the stairs felt a little better. But now, a month later, both are draining their batteries like crazy and need to be changed about once a week. The one on the middle platform stopped working at all. My guess is that the bulb is blown and there is certainly no way to replace it without destroying the device. Frustrated, discouraged and frustrated.
