Stakes are 1/8" thick and nicely coated with glossy green paint. They actually measure 26" so can be inserted into soil far enough to make them very secure. While I feel that they should not sell for more than $1 each, this pack of 20 stakes is not too much more than that, and a heck of a lot less expensive than garden supply stores for comparable quality. I used them to keep individual cleome plants that were leaning toward the sun in an upright position so they would not topple to the ground in heavy rain when in full bloom. Already tested through one rain storm; mission accomplished! Very pleased with purchase.
