Review on Infinity REF1000S Shallow Mount Subwoofer by Laura Patzner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing quality from Infinity! Unbeatable quality you absolutely must try!

Amazing subwoofer! I bought this subwoofer to replace my Kicker CompC that came with the subwoofer for my Ford F-150. The kicker had similar characteristics, being a low-profile subwoofer with a voice coil. It actually has a higher RMS rating than the Infinity, but it can't even be compared. The Kicker would start to distort at high volumes while the Infinity doesn't even resonate. This Infinity has a selector switch to use as 2 ohms or 4 ohms which is very handy and helps when hooking up an amplifier. I have all the new Infinity speakers all over my F-150 (6x9 Kappa front and 6.5 Series Reference rear) so I wanted them to match the subwoofer. Boy am I really glad I did! This sub is definitely underrated at 200 RMS watts because I can run it higher than the kicker (which is rated at 300 RMS) and absolutely NO distortion! The maximum power of 800W allows you to play powerful bass. The sound quality is simply unbeatable, just like my Infinity speakers. The slim design also allows it to fit into very tight narrow boxes like mine, which is great for use in a truck cab or to save space. I didn't even break the subwoofer and it sounds fantastic so can't wait to see how it sounds in a week or so. Infinity makes amazing products of really high quality and I always buy with confidence. Infinity and JBL are a Harmon Kardon company. They make some of the best audio products on the market. JBL has an identical slim design subwoofer that is essentially the same woofer, so either would be a good choice. Don't hesitate, buy this subwoofer! You will not regret it!
