So far I'm pretty disappointed. I bought two of these with no intention of returning them but after using them I'm convinced I wasted my money. And yes, I followed all the helpful tips in the positive reviews. - I froze the freezer bowl for over 30 hours before first use. - I made the ice cream mix a day ahead and left it in the fridge. - 10 minutes before putting it in the car, I put the mixture in the freezer. - I plugged the hole in the top of the ice cream maker to keep cold air from escaping. - I froze the bowl upside down (as suggested by one reviewer) - made 1/2 the amount of ice cream mix as another reviewer suggested. Results: I checked every 5-10 minutes and after 20 minutes it was still runny. After 40 minutes it reached the consistency of slush. I'm refreezing the freezer bowl and trying the ICM again before sending both backs to Amazon. Update: (second attempt). So this time I used both machines to make two flavors and I left my ice cream mix in the freezer for about 1.5 hours before adding it to the machine. 1 taste turned out bland, as when served. After that, it took about an hour or two in the freezer. The second flavor (strawberry/vanilla) still got mushy. I'll try again tomorrow and keep the mixture in the freezer for two hours before starting the machine. My kid threw the box away (he picked that day to do his own thing) so I'm desperately trying to figure out how to make this all work. π€£
