I'm not exactly sure what the real difference between the two USB ports is, but they are marked as: top mobile port only and lower connection for mobile phone or tablet. This information is repeated in a small guide that accompanies the package. The charger is beautifully packaged - securely boxed, the box is wrapped in plastic and everything comes in a padded bag. Tested both ports and they successfully charged the items they needed to charge. I wish both ports could be used for anything with USB (maybe they can, and I don't know enough about USB etc), but this is a bit annoying. Overall, this is an item that gets the job done for little investment.
