I have a leaking water dispenser where the metal cooling element fits into a plastic water tank. I've water welded it many times, but it keeps leaking when it's run out of water due to the thermal expansion properties of various materials. This RTV is potable water safe. While it's not designed to be submerged in water, it's sealed fairly well. The only downside is the taste and smell of vinegar. Rid the flavor by adding bicarbonate and letting sit overnight. Did this for seven days with fresh bicarbonate and water changes.
