I bought these toner cartridges because HP sent out an unsolicited software update that made all my aftermarket toners incompatible. I find it a pity that HP sends out these software updates to force you to only use HP toner. This unwanted HP software update rendered my HP Laserjet printer inoperable unless I just replaced all aftermarket toners with HP toners. True Image sent a firmware downgrade patch and I was able to use their toner as well as the existing aftermarket toner in my HP Laserjet printer. I'm sure HP software has caused problems for many users when using non-genuine toner. In this regard, the consumer should have a choice: use HP toner or non-genuine toner in their printers.
