Review on Dorman 924 527 Spare Hoist Assembly by Kevin Williams

Didn't want to adapt this to a specific vehicle, I was looking for a generic product for use under a 5x8 trailer. This one works fine. The "hole" for the stem is occupied by a 3/8" actuator extension (not tight as it's a bit wider, but fits the height just fine). I managed to get it under the trailer to the rear, behind the axle, attach, and drilled a hole in the side rail for the 3/8" drive extension to slide through. The tire can now be lowered/raised into the extension in the winch using a drill with a 3/8" bit. There is a tooth on one side of the mounting plate that causes it to tilt slightly on a flat surface. I compensate for this by installing a couple of shims.
