Instant quality scent, easy to use, pair and operate in less than 5 minutes out of the box. The sound is as good as anything I've heard from a similarly sized unit: solid bass, no auto hum, but very comfortable for music including jazz, classical and rock. Simple controls, simple interface. Even if the battery is half the size of what the promotional materials say, it's going to be amazing. I was a music lover, built my own stereo and bought many speakers and amplifiers over the years including some of the latest soundbars. The sound quality on this M83 is better than any other portable accessory I've used in years, and at a very reasonable price. High-quality assembly and the thing looks indestructible. Just take a look. So far I am more than satisfied and can only recommend it. If anything goes wrong after this honeymoon I will update the review. Now back to the music of this little gem. FIX: The M83 has a software bug that locks the device in a mode that prevents it from connecting, playing, or . switch off. Very frustrating. If you don't know how to fix the problem, this is easy. There are several reviews here that mention this bug, as well as quite a bit of chatter online about it. But GOOD NEWS. It is easy to fix and also easy to prevent. FIX IT: If the device is locked, blue light is on or constantly flashing, no sound, not plug and play: Plug in a 3.5mm audio plug (e.g. for your mobile phone and for most audio devices with a headphone jack or speaker output). Simply plug into the M83 audio connector. This will restart the software and fix the problem immediately. Insert the plug, the front indicator will turn red for a few seconds and then start flashing blue again. Now power cycle your M83 and the device will reset. It is so easy. Save this note because it can happen to you and this procedure will fix it. Also, I'm pretty sure I know why this is happening. The M83 has an odd, slightly clever feature: it allows you to connect two M83s to the same master unit. When you do this, the M83 software splits the two sets of speakers into two stereo channels, which you can now physically separate (pull the speakers apart) to get true stereo. And of course more sound and more bass. Smart. The problem is that this Bluetooth feature requires a buggy software procedure. What happens is that if your M83 loses connection while streaming, or if it's paired and talking to more than one host (let's say you have another device in the room that's paired to it and works with Bluetooth on), the Smart M83 software loops and freezes. locked up. Then you get the Blue Light of Death. it won't turn off and you can't turn off the device.) Now you know how to unlock it. But even you can prevent the crash in most cases. First, always start an M83 session the same way. Start with the M83 powered off. Take the host device, go to the Bluetooth dialog and remove the M83 from the list of paired devices. Turn Bluetooth off and on again. Add M83 again and wait until you have a CONNECT button. Now turn on the M83 and let it find the host. Press the connect button on the M83 and let it pair and connect. Now you can go. When you're done listening, turn off your M83, then turn off Bluetooth on the host. Also make sure there are no other host devices paired with your M83 nearby that could interfere with the pairing/connection process. Sounds silly, but if you follow this simple procedure, you shouldn't have any problems. I can't tell you about the function of two M83s because I don't have two M83s and can't test it. You must try it yourself if you decide to go this route. It would be very helpful if the manufacturer included the reset procedure in the user manual, it's easy to do and works well, but only if you know about it. I'll try to downgrade my rating for this to 4 stars because this bug is known and the Boogani gods really should take care of it. If so, then we can return the fifth star. Hello PG
