Ideal for hobbyists and electronics enthusiasts

I can't say enough good things about this vise. I confess that I expected it to work perfectly when I ordered it and envisioned attaching it to my desk for soldering and other hobbies. In fact, it works exactly as I expected. I wasn't disappointed! I really like that I can attach this vise to my desk when I need it and then just put it out of the way when I'm done. This is something you just can't achieve with a traditional permanent installation vise. It probably won't work at all on a surface that isn't smooth (e.g. a workshop wood workbench), but for a hobby in the kitchen or in the office it's fantastic. Well I haven't done any heavy work with this thing, I mainly use it for soldering and other jobs that don't require a lot of vise force so I don't know how well it will work. Will withstand such work. Pros: * Installs in seconds on any smooth surface * Can be removed in about 2 seconds * * Very * sticks firmly to the surface it was attached to with the suction cup * The vise's rotating and repositioning function is very, very easy to use and makes the hobby so much easier. Being able to rotate and tilt the vise in seconds is extremely convenient. Cons: * May not stick to your table/table surface if there is a lot of lateral force on what you are working on, but I haven't tested it. That. It goes without saying that it doesn't take a lot of hammering or a lot of pushing/pulling as it's attached with a suction cup and not bolted to the desk. If you need a vise that can be clamped to any smooth surface very quickly, this is it!
