Review on Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G Smartphone MediaTek Dimensity 920 8/256 GB Global, Dual nano SIM, graphite gray by Micha Szymaski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

An excellent average for my money, I took the 8/256 configuration (there is never much memory) to my wife to replace the old Pocofone F1. One of the key factors in choosing this device was the mandatory requirement to support memory cards (alas, there are fewer such devices from year to year). Compared to Pocofone F1, there are steps both for the better (charging, screen, performance) and for the worse (30fps limit for 4K, combined speaker, notification light). Compared to my Redmi Note 9 Pro, a strong step back is the card tray. But, in general, the device turned out to be good, the wife was satisfied. Perfectly digests a large number of photos and videos in memory (there is a 512Gb MicroSD card), for a month of use there were no lags or brakes. The camera isn't great, but it's not bad either. The 108MP mode is "noisy-soapy" marketing, but the regular 12MP mode (9 pixels "combined" into one) produces stable quality for a device of this price category. I took off the star, in fact, only for the combined speaker! The rest is more nitpicking than real cons.

Pros
  • + 120W charging, it really changes the approach to the perception of a dead phone (I saw that the phone was dead, put it on charge, washed, and the battery was already 100%); + bright and contrast screen; + a refresh rate of 120 hertz is only a plus (at first you don’t notice the difference, and then the usual 60 hertz already seems to be “brake”); + support for memory cards (!); + 3.5mm jack (it won’t be superfluous, it came in handy in a car for connecting to AUX); + good autonomy: 1 full day with normal load (lots of internet, social networks, music, etc.); + excellent performance in everyday tasks (see paragraph above); + good main camera (at the level); + stereo speakers are quite loud.
Cons
  • - the upper speaker is combined with the speaker (at a volume above average, others will hear your conversation); - no notification LED; - the camera can not shoot 4K60fps; - very "noisy" ultra wide-angle camera; - 2MP macro camera. In 2022? Seriously? Why not put 0.3MP? - slot for SIM-MicroSD-cards (you can not put 2 SIM and a memory card at the same time); - the sound from JBL is more about marketing than about quality.
