Wow, that thing is really cool!
You can turn off the small battery! I figured I'd program it right away after seeing if it would glow well with my solar panel I carry in my hiking bag. It works great, and of course the full version of Router OS is so over the top it just makes me smile. Once you switch to Router OS, you'll never go back. In fact, you scoff at other router interfaces if they aren't carrier grade. That's probably why I have a pretty nice little Mikrotik network. :)
