Review on Silent Wooden Hamster Exercise Wheel - Ideal for Hamsters, Gerbils, Mice, and Other Small Pets by Brandon Vox

Quiet, but breaks after 2 months. Favorite Repair

Third update: I glued the fixed parts of the wheel together with strong construction glue. The wheel no longer falls apart. In fact, he stayed together for 2 weeks and seems to be holding out. When the screws fell out, I smeared the holes with construction glue and then put the screws back in. It looks like the bolts loosened when the wheel was used. I hope this solution continues to work because it's a great wheel if it doesn't fall apart! Update after 2 months of daily use: the wheel literally fell apart overnight, maybe it's just not strong enough for our gerbils. Very disappointed as it was working great until we found it broken in the morning. We were lucky that our gerbils were not harmed. The bolts holding the wheel to the base somehow ALL came out. Too bad the return/refund window has expired as we cannot refund money on this product. First Review: Really well designed, very quiet. I had a silent runner that was great but because it was plastic my gerbils ate it up in about two months. This wood alternative is more durable and even quieter than a silent treadmill.

Pros
  • Pet safe material, durable and chew resistant. Cork treadmill is continuous to prevent tearing or tripping. The soft surface of the cork track ensures comfort when running. Made from oak and poplar wood which are also strong and gnaw resistant
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
