excellent value for the money. I had the option to purchase a DSLR with a whale lens for the same price, but I turned it down. I desired a camera with an effective zoom. A DSLR lens would cost significantly more money. You need that if you're a novice. You won't regret it if you take it. These are some advantages: Lightweight, cozy, and properly sized for the hand. The zoom and the sharpness of the zoomed-in images impressed me greatly. Very good stabilizer; accurate color reproduction. Each image is vivid and crisp. Easy-to-use menu. work quickly. Superb video. has a 5 frame-per-second maximum. Cons: I don't mind that the autofocus is a touch slow at high magnification.
