Using a 30ft RG6 coaxial cable with my Actiontec Network Extender to improve signal strength for my Nest outdoor camera. I recently bought a Nest outdoor camera to monitor driveways and vehicles. Unfortunately, my current WiFi network does not have sufficient signal strength to maintain a reliable connection to the camera. For less than $25 ($15 for an Actiontec extender and $10 for this 30-foot CL2-rated RG6 coax), I was able to easily extend my Frontier FiOS (formerly VZ) network . The signal strength and video quality have greatly improved and I no longer had "Your camera lost connection" messages. router and Actiontec extender). After connecting to the splitter, I routed the cable to an existing hole I had drilled in the ceiling drywall that powered a ceiling mounted Nest camera outside the garage. The cable has a class CL2, so it is suitable for the attic. The cable is also flexible enough to make the necessary curves and run along trusses and walls. Overall I am very happy with the coax cable and would definitely recommend it.
