I used it in my car and hotel. I do not recommend leaving the box in the shipping part except for transportation. I tried leaving the box in the carrier and it was very embarrassing for my cat who ended up urinating on it and on herself. She's not a big cat, so her size didn't matter. Taking out the box and using the liner is much easier, cleaner and gives the cat more space. I still can't wash the pee out of the carrier, even with a pressure washer, so the fact it's waterproof means it's not "easy to clean," and the rubber coating that makes it "waterproof" has made has resolved . now it is completely destroyed.
