I used a 3"/76mm hole saw to cut 4 holes in 1/4" thick square steel tubing with a small router. The reviewer who said "slow down and use coolant" gave good advice. I did that, there were no problems. Holes are cut cleanly. The hole saw had concentricity errors; the finished hole diameter was approximately 0.030 oversize.
