There is little protection but it will work
The cover is very tight with tray 3 inside and that is VERY tight. It's a struggle to close and requires a bit of juggling, but it works. If you have a silicone case, it will NOT fit in the case. It's not a hard cover either, as others have said it has some play when you squeeze it so it won't protect against a high fall, maybe just a short tumble off a couch or table, but other than that it's there probably. not much protection. That way I can keep it there but then I have to put the silicone cap back on when I want to use it.
