I ordered a 24mm socket to open the transmission drain plug. The socket works perfectly. The inside distance between the surfaces is 24.06mm and the outside diameter is 31.79mm as measured with a digital caliper. The socket looks well made and its design should reduce stripping of the screws. I have a set of cheap sockets and they break bolts if misused. It shouldn't have this problem. The inner surfaces that come into contact with the screw head are domed, and there is a curve in the corners. As a result, the head has a little more play when it is mounted on the bolt, but it is held securely and does not slip off. It works great and I definitely recommend it.
