Review on 🎅 Bucilla Santa Poinsettia Tree 18-Inch Christmas Stocking Felt Applique Kit by Amanda Castillo

I bought this in September to make for my daughter who will be almost 8 months for Christmas. This is a very time consuming project - I'd love to do this while I'm pregnant, not now when I'm taking care of my very active baby! - but very convenient to do. This is literally a sew-by-numbers project. You need to buy a bag of filler (e.g. polyester fiber filler) to fill the different parts to give it a three-dimensional effect. Some sewing skills are required - I would say that you should definitely know appliqué and satin stitches or split stitches. (The instructions say to use satin stitch, but i'm having trouble with it so i used split stitch instead and it turned out beautifully. ) To ensure it's fully usable, I've sewn a red flannel applique to the insides so Santa treats can't accidentally rip the seams. I also added a 1 inch strip of fabric around the edge to give it a little more depth. (See photo.) In general, it turned out to be good. I love it and will do more for my husband and any future children I might have! so Santa treats don't accidentally rip open the seams.
