Review on Convenient and Comfortable PETKIT Pet Backpack Carrier for Cats by Devin Jirsa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Alaska Airline Approved (window seat only)

I searched the abyss of google for a cat backpack that: has a decent window (instead of a bladder), isn't terribly bulky and is dainty (there are backpacks that do would be half my size) - it had a great design. It was a PETKIT backpack. First, it's airline-approved, at least for the Alaska Airlines cabin in economy mode. I was concerned it wouldn't fit under the seat because Southwest (another reviewer) had large rims under the seat. But this backpack fits right under the seat in front of me. It slides about halfway under the window seat. It will NOT fit completely under the middle row seat so you need to take this into account when booking flights/seats. Airport check-in and customs went well too - you can ask for a "private screening room" if you don't want to take your pet out of the carrier. Now for the fan and lighting features: it's just beautiful. Some buyers don't read the quick start guide and then complain that "fan and light don't work". The manual specifically states (and I'm pretty sure on the box) that an external power supply/battery is required for the fan and light to work. That's all. Simply open the side pocket and connect the power bank to the USB cable (integrated in the backpack). The fan will turn on automatically for your pet. My PSU is 10cm x 8cm (4" x 3"), but the bag is big enough for a 15cm (6") high PSU. I thought the features sounded too good to be true online but they are real! Changing the fan setting from "Auto" is done via the touchscreen, and turning the light on and off is just a long press. The fan power isn't the strongest, so I don't recommend relying on it too much. But it gives the kitty a little extra breeze. And the light works well too. I think the backpack attracted no less attention than the kitten. Several people have commented on this and have never seen such a "high tech" backpack before. I love the aesthetic and everything about this backpack. It's pricey but worth it - did I mention I had to carry my cat on walks of about 2 hours? It really isn't a bad choice when you consider it!
