I have these 200W Pyle PL53BL 5.25" Tri-Way Speakers (pair) for a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. See update 20120430 at the end! Matches the original bracket exactly. The center midrange and tweeters are almost protruding an inch out, meaning you must use the grilles that came with the speakers instead of the dust cover and flush-mount grille that come with the Jeep. The interior side panel is carpeted and the pad that the carpet is attached to , had to be cut off to prevent the outer part of the main woofer from hitting it. You should cut carefully, leaving as much as possible to allow you to attach the plastic ring to the carpet/mat. The ring holds the mesh/grid, which now protrudes 1/2" to 3/4" into the booth. If you trim enough to fit the plastic ring on the inside edge of the carpet /rear panel, you can use the supplied screws. to hold everything together with the inner door frame (metal) where the original speaker was installed. There's something you may need to figure out to keep the carbet/support pad from vibrating/rattling at the resonant frequencies of what you're playing from bumps in the road and opening/closing doors. I separately attached the ring to the carpet/pad and finally drilled holes in the inner metal frame of the door to screw the ring, carpet and grate to the door to keep it firmly in place. (Might rust, but hey, it's an '89 with lots of rust.) As for the sound. about as loud as the original speakers and just as clean. (Much better than the ones that didn't have the base cone attached to the outer frame anywhere anymore, of course!) I was hoping they would be a lot louder and clearer. Chances are they would be louder with a factory cassette deck replaced with a JVC with CD and MP3 input. after that for the rest. The sound isn't much better than the original speakers but acceptable for the price and my time. (I have 2 pairs, two in the front and two in the back (hatch).) ********** UPDATE 20120430: I found them louder than I thought. The problem was that the new Radio/CD/Audio-In deck had a Hi/Low setting. You choose "Low" when your speakers can't handle units of 50 watts per channel and my son has them set low or pre-programmed low. I put it on "Hi" and now I can get really loud. So I changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars because the speakers sound just as good as they came from the factory. If they were flush with the door I would give them 5 stars out of 5 as installation would be a lot easier.
