Now I use brake oil. The gum doesn't seem to swell and I just prefer using a squeeze tube to a can and brush. It's just cleaner and easier to use. The lubricant lasts well and for a long time. As other reviewers have pointed out, they claim a really high temp, but it's silicone so it can't be that high. If you look up the specs on crc's own website, the flash point is 550 degrees Fahrenheit. They state an operating temperature of 3000 degrees and a flash point of 550. Not sure how it works, but it's still a great brake lube.
