New, quality new and unique. Is this related to this product or is this product really useful? let's find out I originally reviewed this product last month. At that time I compared this product with the Finnex Ray 2 DS (transverse). I liked both products but ultimately chose Finnex due to the higher light output and superior fixture design. I carefully compared the two devices before making my decision. Luckily I had access to people who owned both brands. And although their tanks were different from mine, the dimensions were close enough that I could clearly distinguish the characters of both Lanterns. What I wrote in my Finnex Ray 2 DS review still applies today. And for this particular tank, if I had a choice today, I would have made the same choice. Finnex had exactly what I needed for this tank. Namely to provide life-giving light energy to some very complex plants like Dwarf Baby Tears, Needle Leaf Rotala and Dwarf Hairgrass. However, I was also intrigued by the Current USA Freshwater LED+. So when the opportunity arose to fit another tank, I ordered it. Revain delivered the package, I received it, unpacked and installed it. The current one now sits on a 30-inch tank with adjustable feet that protrude from the light's 24-inch body. There is a dwarf in the tank, the fire gourami. There is no gravel. Yes, this reservoir is under development. The plan is to eventually populate this tank with peacock minnows. The current mount isn't quite as pretty as the Finnex. The black body and curved wire legs do not add to the aesthetics to control the product's ability The wireless remote control (included) and its ability to change the color of the light. There are also some dynamic lighting effects such as flash flicker Remote control allows you to change the color of the LEDs and adjust them to better enhance colors of your fish and plants. This lamp offers a high entertainment value. The remote control is fun. This light would be ideal for use in an aquarium that only has low light plants such as Anubia, Java Fern and Marim O Balls. The light intensity is quite low. If you want to grow plants that need a lot of light, this light is not a good choice. That is, unless you want to buy two and run them together. It basically depends on what you have in the tank. If you have plastic plants, this device will work very well. This would be great on an unplanted tank full of Rift Lake cichlids. And you can adjust the light to enhance the vivid colors of the fish. I gave this product five stars. It was not designed to operate in a system that requires high light intensity. To do this, you need something more intense. But it succeeded in what it was designed to do, which is to create a remote controlled LED lamp that has the ability to change the colors of its light output. more expensive. Both lamps are good. Depending on your needs, any of them will serve you very well. Just find out beforehand what you need the light for. I wanted to review the Build My LED bulb but couldn't find it. I've seen them before and their case is aesthetically superior to the other two products mentioned in this review. However, they are also a bit more expensive. Are these new features like lightning effects good for the fish? Probably no. I think it's just for fun. However, this middle-aged adult isn't averse to having fun and sorting out the available lighting effects from this fixture. So just a novelty or a practical advantage? You have to judge this for yourself. A little tip: if you plan to use it for a 30 inch planter, try the next size up. UPDATE (2014-02-18): The light intensity is lower than I originally thought. This attachment is used on a 30 inch 20 gallon tank. My opinion after more than a week in the aquarium is that the light output for this combination is only sufficient if the plants are really faint. An example of a plant that can grow well in this light in an aquarium of this size is Anubia. I'm thinking of buying a second unit so I can grow a wider variety of plants. This would be an expensive setup for a 20 gallon tank.
