This is a significant improvement over the FP34. In addition to adding e-SATA (and probably useless 12/5V outlets), far fewer USB ports are used. The FP34 has 2.5 connectors: one for USB ports, one for card readers, and a half connector for power. Many motherboards only have 2 USB ports, so it really didn't matter when you had to choose between USB ports and a card reader. The FP35 comes with USB connection cable, 1394A connection cable, AC97/HD audio combo cable, SATA cable and 4-pin Molex connector for power supply. This works much better as most people will probably want more than one USB port on the front and this should allow for at least another pair to be connected, which in most cases is built in. The build quality is also much better on this one. as FP34.
