Review on BeginAgain Tinker Totter Robot Character Set, 28Piece Playset, Kids 3 & Up, Model:I1608 by Darin Merriwether

Pegs too small, robot parts do not stay connected

While these robots are super cute, and are based around a good idea (thus the 2 stars), the way the pegs and holes are machined is inconsistent. This makes for robot pieces that fall off as soon as they are put on. Both of my kids, as well as myself found this frustrating and made for a toy which you could not play with. Even the robot pieces that "belonged" with each other did not necessarily have a tight fit. More than half of the pegs were too small for the holes, allowing them ton fall out. The basis of tinker toys is that when you connect them together, they stay stuck together until you take them apart.

Pros
  • Well balanced play: Benjamin barlowe was an early 20th-century inventor from Fort Collins, Colorado. He believed that for children to develop properly, they required a balanced approach and needed to incorporate 5 fundamental types of activity into their play; the artist, writer, inventor, Sportster, and hero. Today, BeginAgain toys are all modeled after these principles and promote well-balanced development of the whole child!
Cons
  • The set does not include any instruction manual, so it may be difficult for children to assemble
