Works great on first try
I have used this as a data logger with my Elegoo Uno R3 and the Arduino Create web IDE. The SPI interface is connected via normal hardware pins and uses the supplied <SD .h> drivers. All the hardware worked great but stumbled due to the 8.3 character filename limit and you need to remember to reset() regularly.
