My truck has a 40+ inch height at the tailgate. Getting in and out of bed can be difficult. Especially for my wife who is only 5ft 3 inches tall. Since we have a truck bed camping tent, the truck platform needs to be easily accessible. The stool worked but sometimes the floor is not suitable. hardest or levelest, and the stool tips over. We installed ours on the curb of the truck as it's safer to access the back of the truck if we ever need to be on the road. , It can rotate, making it easier to access the bed and tent when the ladder is hung on the back of the truck. The gate is non-functional and screws for installation. Plus a set of clear instructions. Installation took about 15 minutes. Oh, self-tapping screws, so a hex socket drill is all you need for installation. The extra ten dollars it costs via fixed stairs, well worth it.
