I use it to store my Apple iPad Air 2 in the Otterbox Defender case - it still keeps my protected tablet securely in place. I also use this mount on the inside of my gazebo instead of a car headrest (so we can watch tv/videos/music from outside) and it works great. I attached it to one of the horizontal supports using an existing strap and added a couple of zip ties to attach the bracket to the gazebo's vertical column. Happy with the results so far.
