Have used this DVD burner with the HDR-CX500V camcorder to burn HD DVDs a few times and have found it reliable. All editing is done with a camcorder and not a capture device, so editing is pretty easy compared to a PC capture device and video editing program. But this DVD burner is easy to use, compact to carry, reliable and much cheaper than a desktop HD DVD drive. Recommended if it suits your needs.
