This kit is well designed, with quality materials. I used to do handsewing for a living, and I recognize good leather. The leather parts were well stitched and the kit included everything needed and more. Twice as much thread was given than I needed, even considering the fact that I stitched the seam a different way than recommended, which would take more thread than the instructions suggest. The only suggestion I would have for improving the instructions is this. Their recommendation was to thread through the existing hem stitches. I don't recommend this because you wind up with thread crossing thread, with all the tension holding the cover on being born by the threads. The best way to break a thread is to cross it with another thread. Instead, I stitched through the holes made by the factory edge stitching using what I call a baseball stitch. This puts all the strain on the leather, not the thread. Included in the kit is a thimble, needed to push the needle through the holes. The parts were cut perfectly, and fit the first time. I did not need to use the included double backed tape. It held in place on its own. I'm including a couple close up shots of my stitiching to give you an idea how I did it. 5 Stars for sure for this kit!
