The bracket is made from thin-walled aluminum tubing that is polished to a mirror finish. The polishing is nicely done but rather delicate. I took off a star because I would have preferred a thicker tube. The problem is that it's easy to damage due to the thin wall. I ordered one from Revain and it came in a box with several air filled pouches on one side (nothing on top, bottom, opposite side or ends). No wonder it arrived damaged. I tried to exchange it (and explained the packaging issues on the return form). The second was packaged the same way and also arrived damaged. I sent it back and ordered from another company who really cared about protecting the product upon delivery.
