The ones I got don’t appear to be made for animal messes

I wish I had sent these back when I first got them before I opened them and use them because my guess is that they are not eligible to return since they are used. They were not marked as dog pee pads. I don’t remember what it said they were called, but it was definitely not something that was created for animal use and I thought well they got good reviews so maybe these are things that were not made for animals but then be repurposed for that so I went ahead and used them. So the first problem is if an animal pees on it, depending how much they pee, some of it is going to come through. These are not as absorbent as you would think. It’s not gonna be soaking wet, but it still is going to leave the smell on the floor underneath. The other problem is that no matter how many times I wash them in hot water with fabric softener smell and heavy detergent, I cannot get the smell of pee out of them. I bought these because I was trying to save money because I was replacing those disposable pads once a day. There’s a place in my house that I no longer want a litter box to be but I cannot train my cats to leave it alone because there used to be a box there. So that’s why I use the pads. But the pads were getting expensive. But at this point I’m gonna have to go back to the pads anyway because these have a smell. I can’t wash them with anything else or it transfers the smell onto the other things so I’m also wasting water because I’m doing a whole load of wash just for a single pad. Everything above would be OK if I could just get the smell out of them from washing them and I absolutely cannot. So it seems like I wasted the money buying them.

Pros
  • These worked great in the bottom of a baby pool I used for a whelping mama dog.
Cons
  • The waterproof coating might not be eco-friendly
