Reliable performance and value for money.

At home I use my laptop as a desk. I usually have a pair of USB headphones, an external USB SSD, and (always) a USB WiFi adapter that I use at home but don't take with me when I travel. This hub simplifies that task by providing a single connection that disconnects when it's time to go and has everything waiting for me when I get home. I like separate power buttons because I can turn off an idle device without unplugging it, which reduces wear and tear on my USB connections. For example, I only turn on my SSD drive once a week to back up data files and then turn it off again. If I am hacked, this copy of my files cannot be "redeemed" or accessed. After mine worked for about 6 months I bought a second one for my wife and we are both very happy with it. If I had to cite one negative issue, it's that the blue LEDs that illuminate the sockets when they're on are bright. Since both hubs are in my bedroom, the whole room glows blue at night.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Big and clumsy
